Just remember - whenever you use this recipe the item level is reduced to 1 and that means that some items will not get the maximum number of sockets. But if you find a crude or damaged item you can use the cube recipe for "Low quality" items with El/Eld rune and a chipped gem to get a normal quality item. If you find a superior item it can only be socketed by Larzuk. Only a white normal item can be socketed in the cube. Some good runewords need Els or Elds.īut in general those four runes - and Orts needed to make Thuls - are worth stocking on because then you get options for crafting items. In general it is useful to keep a low runes for 2-3 runewords. Also you never know which rune you will need so it's useful to remember that Eths make Tals, Tals make Rals, Rals make Orts, Orts make Thuls and only to make Amn you need three thuls as well as a chipped topaz. Helms are not that much of a problem because they can have 1,2 or 3 sockets so you roll 5/6 for two sockets in a two socket helm and 4/6 for three sockets in a three socket helm but armors and weapons are a different story because you have 1-4 and 1-6 sockets so it's good to have runes to spare. Tal Thul for armors, Ral Amn for weapons, Tal Amn for shields and Ral Thul for helms. Ral, Tal, Thul and Amn are most valuable low runes because apart from the runewords and Crafted items they are required for recipes for adding sockets to items in the cube and for upgrading normal Uniques and Rares.
